    KLIC-125 PROGRAMMABLE CASH DRAWER
    Last edited: December 15, 2003 08:09 AM

    The KLIC-125 is a cash drawer that can be fired directly from a serial or parallel port.  Multiple cash drawers can be daisy chained to work off of a single port although only one drawer will transmit its drawer open status.  It draws power from a 12V DC adapter.
    Cables

    For parallel cash drawers a standard parallel cable will work.  For serial cash drawers a straight-thru(modem) cable will work with most CPUs.

    DB25 male  DB25 female

      2 — TXD — 2
      3 — RXD — 3
      5 — CTS — 5
      6 — DSR — 6
                  |    jumper
                  — 8
      7 — SG  — 7
    Switches

    There are switches behind a panel on the back to set up the baud rate, serial/parallel interface, firing code, and to designate the drawer as terminated or pass thru.  A single non-daisy chained drawer, or the last drawer in a daisy chain must be set to terminated.  All other drawers must be pass thru. Switches are labeled sw1-sw4 and identified in the documentation as bank1- bank4. Bank 1 is the ascii timing, or fire code, bank 2 sets serial baud rate and is used in parallel mode to determine pass through or terminate. bank 3 sets serial or parallel mode, as does bank 4. Bank 4 sets pass thru or terminated in serial mode. In determining switch settings 1 means on, 0 means off.

    Configure as follows:
    Serial pass-thru    S2=01100000 S3=0000000 S4=00011000
    Serial terminated    S2=01100000 S3=0000000 S4=00011111
    Parallel pass-thru  S2=00000000 S3=1111111 S4=11100000
    Parallel terminated  S2=00011111 S3=1111111 S4=11100000

    Determine whether the drawer is drawer 1 or drawer 2 and configure bank 1
    switches as follows:

      S1=00111000    for ASCII 28  (Drawer 1)
      S1=10011000  for ASCII 25  (Drawer 2)

    NOTE: TouchMenus standard for drawer codes is:
            Drawer 1 – ASCII 28
            Drawer 2 – ASCII 25
    Styling

      1. In Printer Definitions set it up as a local printer on the appropriate Com/Lpt port.
      2. In the print template the default Ascii 28 will fire drawer 1.Ascii 25 will fire drawer 2.

    Drawer Open Status

    If the cash drawer is open, Touchnet will treat it exactly as a local printer that is off line.
