MemberPayroll Report Plugin
Last edited: December 15, 2003 08:14 AM
The Payroll plugin report is an extra report that can be run from within Manager. This report looks similar to the labor summary report currently available in Manager with a few extra columns. The additional information is overtime hours, overtime rate, overtime pay, tip amount and net sales.
This report (and other overtime calculating modules/reports) use the same overtime parameters. The parameters definable are:
The user will define:
1. Week start day – the day of the week the user considers to be the starting day.
2. Minimum wage – the state/federal minimum wage. This figure is used to calculate overtime for employees working in a “server” type job code. The “server” type employees are typically paid less than minimum wage and when working overtime must be paid the overtime multiplier applied to the greater of minimum wage or their wage.For each job code the user may define:
1. Maximum hours per week – number of hours an employee can work before being considered working on overtime.
2. Overtime multiplier – the multiplier to apply to an employee’s rate of pay once considered to be working on overtime.
3. Server type – to specify a job code as a “server” type, and thus applying the special “server” type overtime rules to the employees working on overtime in this job code.This report is configurable from Manager. Select “Configure Extra Reports” from the File menu and then select “Payroll Report” from the list box. This screen will appear showing current overtime parameters and job code specific parameters.

Use this screen to define the Week begin day and the minimum wage. To define specific job code parameters, select the desired job code from the list box and then select the EDIT button. This action will bring up the following screen:
[img:2rislusd]http://www.possupport.net/dealer/kbase/images/payroll2.jpg[/img:2rislusd]
Use this screen to define the maximum hours per week, overtime multiplier and job kind for each job code. Select the OK button to save your changes. (by default all job codes are set to 40 hours per week, 1.5% overtime multiplier and server type turned off)
The report can be run for any range of dates. The way the overtime is calculated is if the beginning day selected is not the defined “Week Begin Day” then Payroll will go back to the “Week Begin Day” for the beginning day selected and start gathering hours from there. The hours up to the beginning day selected are not included in the report, they are used for calculating overtime only.

Installation
Create a directory called Plugins on the same drive as Manager was found. If Manager was found on C: then the directory should becreated on the C: drive.
Place the program files in this directory. The necessary files are:
* Payroll.EXE – the program executable
* Payroll.RES – the resource file
* Payroll.PID – the program definition fileTechnical notes
Below is an excerpt from Plugins.DOC describing the program definition file. For more detailed information about the workings of a plugin, please refer to the Plugins.DOC.
.PID File FormatThe .PID file is a text file that may be created with DOS Edit or any other text editor. It contains settings that Manager will use. Below are a list of possible settings and their meanings.
The file may also contain remarks. A REM indicates that the line is a remark, and will be ignored. Blank lines will also be ignored. A remark may be placed after a setting, on the same line if it is preceeded by a ; symbol.
The following are sample settings, with remarks about each:
Version=5 ;This required line informs manager what version of TouchNET/TouchPRO the report is compatible with.
Name=A Plugin Report ;This is the name that the user will see
Wide=136 ;This is the report width (80 and 136 are common)
UseJournal=yes ;This report will not be launched without the user selecting dates first. Without this line, the /Date=YYMMDD-YYMMDD command line will not be passed.
