This document contains the upgrade procedure used by Touch Menus to convert customers running Touchnet Version 4.xx to TouchPro Version 5.14 or newer. Not all steps are required and some steps may not be applicable to Application Developers who configure their systems differently than Touch Menus. ADs should still find this a good checklist for converting their customers.
Preliminary1. Determine what features the customer is expecting from the upgrade.
2. Verify the customers system meets the requirements specified in V5FEAT.DOC.
3. (In-house only) Forward information to the designated sales rep to generate a work order.Initial Styling
1. Upload their application.
2. Run V5FIX in-house on on their app.
3. Run Darrins scanner. (Note: This utility has not yet been released, but will scan the application for possible compatability problems such as those listed in steps 4 through 12)
4. Correct changed graphics characters.
5. Remove tilde(~) if in last column on any print template.
6. Verify the Highlight Position is OK after any Flip Order by Choice commands.
7. Verify all shells will run. Note any executables called and make it is upgraded to Version 5 on the customers system at installation time.
8. Correct Clean Me buttons by creating Move On zone. This corrects for the fact that the Delay command is now touch sensitive.
9. If Lock Out Expired Employees is used in conjunction with the Timeclock using Variables command, add an If Branch=6 section.
10. Add a Clear Single Media button, if needed, to Tender page.
11. If the Order Item Instruction is used in Local Options, locate anywhere else it is used, and remove it if no longer needed.
12. Remake any Managers macros.
13. Style in any other changes requested by the customer.Installation
1. Back up the customers application to include subdirectories.
2. Download the version 5 TOUCHNET directory.
3. Run V5FIX and select Upgrade HASP to V5.
4. Have Ann convert the request number to an authorization number and enter it into the system.
5. Select the Convert Files to V5 option to complete the upgrade.
6. Download the styling changes.
7. Download other utilities and executables as needed.
8. Create a PLUGINS directory off of the root and install files as needed for additional Manager reports.
9. Update Choose Menu if needed.
10. Have customer reboot all registers(not Refresh Data), and test the new application.Revisons
1/9/01 rw
1.
Removed MaxDays from Installation steps.
