MemberOn the DOS file server you will need to make several changes.
Start with both of the servers plugged into the network and the Windows server turned off.
The DOS file server will need to have its name changed to MAIN2. To do this you will need to have a monitor and keyboard attached to the DOS File Server. Edit the startnet.bat file in the lantasti directory. Change the name, save the file and turn off the DOS server. On the Windows server the name should be MAIN. In the Lantastic control panel click on the accessories tab, and set the Machine name.
Now you should be able to turn on the DOS file server. On the Windows file server you should now be able to assign a drive on the “use network tab” of the Lantastic control panel. Look for the old file server (ie. MAIN2) under network resources .On the left side click the plus sign next to the old server, a drive, or list of drives will appear. On the right will be a plus sign next to available drives. Click on the plus sign, a list will drop down with letters you can use. On available resources, below MAIN2 will be the drives of the old server. Click on and Hold down the mouse button on the C-Drive, or C: drive, and drag it to the available side and release it on a drive letter (preferably lower down the list P,Q,R,S whichever). You should now be able to browse this drive. Copy all the files from the working directory (TOUCHNET) and copy it to the Win-EZ folder. Copy the client folder to the Win-EzClient folder. Be sure to copy any folders, files on the C: drive that you may need (plugins, tools Etc.).
In the Lantastic control panel on the Windows server set the drive shares to match the drive shares on the DOS server (N-DRIVE, G-DRIVE, H-DRIVE etc…).
If you are currently using remote printing from the DOS server you will need to change printers.dat (or the printer setup in EditPRO) to reflect this change (MAIN to MAIN2, MAIN2 to Main3 etc.). If there are no remotes you can remove the DOS server
Now you should be able to restart the front of the house terminals and have them log into the new Server. (Temporarily turn the DOS server off to verify this test)
All applications installed can now see the Win-EZ files locally.
