What does it do?
BakTalk is designed to be a visual Order Confirmation device. It can echo an order as it is being taken. An example application of this might be to place a bright LCD VGA screen at the drive-thru window and use BakTalk to display the customer’s order as it is placed. The visual confirmation reassures the customer that their order is being placed properly and increases both speed and accuracy of the employee at the POS station.BakTalk is designed to operate with TouchPRO. But it is not restricted to this platform.
How does it do it?
BakTalk monitors a text file on the network. The host application sends the data the way it wishes it to appear on the screen, to this file. As BakTalk finds text in the file, it removes it from the file and places it on the screen. BakTalk uses the settings in its current Profile to determine how the items should appear. This allows special colors and pictures to be displayed for each individual item.Special commands may be embedded in the text file to control BakTalk’s mode of operation and set values such as the Tax and Sales totals.
What does it require?
BakTalk is written for Win95 or better. It requires at least 8mb of RAM although 16 or more will improve performance where graphics are used.Is it Copy Protected?
Yes, BakTalk requires HASP authorization in order to be used in Run mode. However it may be configured, and it’s help files may be read without a License.Where do I get it?
