HASP Copy Protection System

The HASP is a pass-through key that plugs into LPT1. It can be read directly by an application running on that computer or through a network connection using a utility called HASPSERV. It is programmed using a utility called RAP.
Hardware
The HASP consists of a single component with a DB-25 male connector on one end that plugs into a DB-25 female LPT1 port. It contains another DB-25 female connector on the other end to connect the printer to. The HASP is transparent to most applications although there have been a
couple of reports from the field of specific situations using Windows print drivers with laser printers that have required the key be removed to work properly.
HASP errors
3 – Problem communicating with HASPSERV. This error is generally
harmless as Touchnet will retry until successful.
4 – HASPSERV not running on network.
10 – Retry of authorization request has failed.
133 – Authorization limit has been reached. No more nodes may be
authorized until a node terminates normally. If this error
is incorrect for the number of nodes currently running the
application then the server needs to be reset to restart the
HASP table.
