This document is primarily intended for in-house use and provides information on how to setup an Immage3. As of this writing, there are four models Immage3, but only two configurations are needed.
Immage3D2, 3W2Dealers should refer to the Immage3 System document for technical information as there is no configuration utility available in the field. For in-house personnel, they should use the appropriate Superdisk 2000 and follow standard Superdisk setup instructions.
Immage3D1, 3W1The remainder of this document contains instructions for in-house personnel regarding setup of the Immage3D1 and Immage3W1.
Getting StartedYou will need to plug in a Power Supply, Keyboard, Floppy Disk Drive and Net Cable to the appropriate connections. Also have in the Floppy Drive a current copy of a Super Disk.
Formatting1. Turn the unit on and press the DEL Key while the computer is booting up. This will take you to the CMOS SETUP Page.
2. Using the arrow keys, arrow down to Advance CMOS Setup and push Enter.
3. Arrow down to the Bootup Sequence, and using the Page up Or Page down Keys change the order from C, A, CDROM to the new setting of A, C, CDROM.
4. Press the ESC key, arrow down to Save Setting and Exit and push the Enter key. This will reboot the computer and end at the MS-DOS Startup Menu.
5. Highlight the Format Hard Drive line on the Menu and press Enter. When Prompted Press any Key.
6. When asked to proceed with the format press Y. When it reads “Volume Label (11 character, ENTER for none)” Press Enter. At this point the Hard Drive will begin to Format.Copying
After Formatting is completed we will copy Touch Menu information to the Hard Drive.
1. Reboot the computer to the MS-DOS Startup Menu again and Highlight choice #3 Spectrum CPU and push Enter. Next highlight choice #4 Version 6 programs, Tools and Utilities. At this point the program will begin to load information. When you see the R-SET screen push the ESC button and the Hard Disk will begin to download information from the shop drive.
2. Once this is completed the computer will rest at an A:> prompt. Type in S:and press Enter. At the S:> type utilityfd and press Enter.Now we will copy files from the Source to the Destination.
1. Press the F8 key on the keyboard to open the Destination Directory. This will prompt you to enter the destination you wish to sent the files to. Type C: and press Enter.
2. Arrow down to STEALTH on the Source directory and press Enter. Arrow down to TOUCH.
3. Press the / (forward slash). [This will highlight the word COPY]. Press Enter and arrow down to ALL SOURCE FILES and press Enter. Arrow back up to TOUCH, use / to highlight COPY and press Enter.
4. Arrow down to DIR AT CURSOR and press Enter.Clean-up
Now we will remove some files from the C: drive which we do not want or use.
1. Arrow (right) to the C:>DRIVE side.
2. Arrow down to AUTOMAIN and press the key bar. (This will highlight automain). Than continue to AUTOWAIT, CONFIG/AUTOEXEC/AUTOWAIT/CONFIG, repeating the highlighting process. (We are getting rid of all ELO and SP1 files). Press the / key and arrow right to ERASE, than press Enter.
3. Arrow down to MARKED FILES and press Enter. It will ask you YES or NO. Choose YES and press Enter.
4. Arrow down to TSCDRV and press the space bar, and arrow down to TSCDRV1 and press the space bar. Press the / key and arrow right to ERASE, press Enter. Arrow down to TREE BRANCH, press Enter, choose YES.
5. Repeat step 4, but instead of TSCDRV & TSCDRV1, you need to highlight MTDISK, ELO,ENET,HOST and INSYNC.
6. When finished reboot the computer. (CTRL+ALT+DEL).
7. While the computer is rebooting press the DEL key to get to the CMOS SETUP.CMOS Setting
Arrow down to the ADVANCED CMOS SETUP and press Enter. Change the configuration back to C:,A:,CDROM using the Page Up key. Reboot the computer and you have completed this task.
