    Immage2 FlashDisk

    Last edited: December 15, 2003 08:09 AM

The Immage2 can be run with a 20MB FlashDisk from SanDisk.  This disk is plugged into the PCMCIA socket located on the bottom of the Personality Module (often called the head).  It should be oriented so the front of the hard disk faces the rear of the Immage2.  The FlashDisk is used in place of a hard disk and functions identically.
    Configuration Images

There are two configuration images.  One for Touch Menus applications, and one for Win-EZ.  These images are not currently posted to the web.  Dealers and Developers should contact Touch Menus Technical Support for a copy.
    Setup

    1.  With the configuration computer turned off, plug the FlashDisk into it’s adapter or designated slot. (TMI personnel only – The configuration computer is the shop laptop and the FlashDisk should be plugged into the bottom slot on the left side)

    2.  Copy the appropriate configuration image directly to the FlashDisk to include all subdirectories. (TMI personnel only – Select the appropriate image from the menu that appears on boot.)

    3.  Change to the root directory on the FlashDisk (TMI personnel only – This is D:) and follow the configuration instructions as detailed in TMI Configuration or Win-EZ Configuration.

    4.  The FlashDisk is now ready to run in the Immage2.
    TMI Configuration

To configure, edit the AutoExec.Bat file on the FlashDisk and make the following changes:

    1.  Change the ###### signs on the REDIR and TOUCHNET commands to the node name for that workstation.

    2.  Change the ? ? ? ? ? ? signs on the CDTOUCHNET command to the application directory name for that customer.

    3.  Check the /LOGINS= switch on the REDIR command to assure that it is set to the number of servers on the network or higher.

    4.  If this will be a print server, perform the following additional steps:

        A.  Remove the REM from the front of the LANCACHE and SERVER commands, and add a REM to the front of the SMARTDRV command.

        B.  Turn off the configuration computer, place the FlashDisk in an Immage2 and turn it on.

        C.  Navigate to the C: prompt and type NET_MGR.

        D.  In Shared Resources, define each global printer by pressing INS to add, keying in the printer name starting with an @ sign (e.g. @KITCHEN), then selecting the appropriate port on the next screen.

        E.  Press Esc to return to the main menu.

        F.  If there is more than one global printer on this print server, Select Server Startup Parameters, then Printers: Select to Manage, then Printer Tasks. Enter the number of global printers being driven by this print server.

        G.  Press Esc as needed until you are back at the C: prompt.  You are done.

    Win-EZ Configuration

To configure, edit the Variable.Bat file on the FlashDisk and make the following change:

    1.  If this workstation has a nodename other than T1, change the SET NODE= command to refer to the correct nodename.

    2.  Exit to DOS.  You are done.
