    KLPC EP-125 PROGRAMMABLE CASH DRAWER

    Last edited: December 15, 2003 08:09 AM

    The KLPC EP-125 is a cash drawer that can be fired directly from a parallel port. The printer cable includes a Y adapter to allow multiple cash drawers to be daisy chained together. It draws power from a 12V DC adapter.
    Cables

    The drawer comes with a direct wired parallel cable with Y connection. If an additional cash drawer is used it is connected to the Y connection. The last cash drawer in the sequence must have the terminator (supplied with the cash drawer) plugged in or the drawer will not operate.
    Switches

    There is a single bank of 10 switches on the back of the cash drawer that identifies the ASCII code that will fire that drawer. Switch settings should be as follows:

    S1=0011100000 for ASCII 28 (Drawer 1)
    S1=1001100000 for ASCII 25 (Drawer 2)
    Styling

    1. In Printer Definitions set it up as a local printer on the appropriate LPT port.

    2. In the print template go into Template Options and set the Open Cash Drawer code to ASCII 28 (default) to fire drawer 1. ASCII 25 will fire drawer 2.
    Drawer Open Status

    DOS does not detect if the drawer is open or closed. Therefore there is no error message displayed if the drawer is already open.
