The Liberty2 Safari Plus Databook CPU contains a K5-100 Processor running at 100MHZ. It comes with Award BIOS and is capable of running as a workstation or server in either DOS or Win95. Ports include 1 parallel, 2 serial, VGA, and ethernet. Expansion slots are available to add more ports. The keyboard port is PS2 and requires an adapter for use with standard keyboards. The Liberty CPU contains one ISA and two PCI expansion slots. CD-ROM is optional.

CMOSPush Del on bootup to enter CMOS setup. Use the arrow keys to move between options and Page Up/Down keys to change options.
The CMOS is originally set to autodetect the hard disk on boot up. For best performance and reliability, the hard disk options should be changed to define the actual hard disk configuration. From the main CMOS menu, run IDE HDD Auto Detection. Then select the line containing LBA Mode from the displayed list of possibilities.
NetworkAn ethernet port comes standard with the Liberty2 CPU. It is configured with the Accton driver disk that comes with the unit. Change to the DIAG directory and run SETUP. Touch Menus currently uses all default settings except for IRQ, which we set to 5.
DOS and Win95 NE2000 drivers should use the following specifications:
* Enhanced mode 16-bit
* IOBase Address 300h
* IRQ 5When installing Lantastic, select Other than Artisoft NDIS Adapter for the adapter type. You will then need to load the driver from the RTI8029 LAN Driver disk that comes with the CPU, and select Default when asked which one to use.
VideoSeveral different video controllers can come with the Liberty2. All contain at least 1MB video RAM and will support all video modes currently used by Touch Menus. Win95 can autodetect the video at install time, so no manual configuration is needed.
HardwareOn the front of the case are two buttons; a reset button on the left, and a suspend button on the right. Thankfully, the suspend feature is not currently implemented, and pressing the suspend button has no effect. There is no turbo button.
The case will slide off to the rear after three screws are removed from the back. To install a hard disk, perform the following steps:
1. Disconnect the floppy disk cables.
2. Remove two screws from each side of the CPU, one located in the top front corner and one located in the middle about two inches back from the front.
3. Pull the face plate containing the drive bays off.
4. Mount the hard disk immediately below the floppy oriented so that it will be right side up.
5. Screw the face plate back on to the main assembly.
6. Connect the floppy and hard disk cables. You may have to add an extension to get the power adapter cable to reach the hard disk.
7. Configure the CMOS as noted earlier.Config.Sys
