While using Net-E-Pay,On ocassion the SQL database can corrupt. This is useually noticed during power outages or lightning storms, installing devices that use the old MS installer, etc. Prompting the following error message.

[i:3kuguecs][b:3kuguecs][color=red:3kuguecs]ODBC Failed Reason SQLServer does not exist or access is denied.Connection open invalid connection string attribute fatal error.[/color:3kuguecs][/b:3kuguecs][/i:3kuguecs]

The following steps should correct this error:
Try to create a backup in E-Pay-Admin first. This can be restored later if possible.

1)Navigate to the Program filesDatacap SystemsMSSQL$DATACAPINSTANCEData folder. Copy the contents to a new folder.

2)Stop MSDE service. (This can be done through services manager, or in the Program files/Microsoft SQL Server folder there is A services manager that will allow you to stop and restart the service.

3)Uninstall MSDE Datacap Instance. Once removed be sure to remove the Program filesDatacap SystemsMSSQL$datacapinstance folder. If you do not the software will attemp to install but then rollback, and error.

4)From the Net-E-Pay CD, or Datacaps website (http://www.datacapepay.com/MainMenu.html) reinstall MSDE Datacap Instance. This will require A reboot upon completion.

5)Copy the dbnetepay.mdf file from your copy of the data folder, and paste to the Program filesDatacapsystemsMSSQL$DATACAPINSTANCEData folder.

    6)Restart MSDE services.

7)Navigat to the Program FilesDatacap SystemsNet-E-Pay folder. Launch DBManager.exe. Click connect, Create New Database.

This should allow you to process credit cards, and view current batch information. If this fails to work the data folder you copied can be sent to datacap for repair.

Addendum: When you must perform the above procedure, keep in mind that you WILL need to increment the batch # in Net-E-Pay Admin. To find the last batch try using E-Pay Admin to view the log files, browse to the Net-E-Pay folder and open the last log file. These are date named files. Go to the day of the last known batch was run. In the log file will be the batch #.
