    ADDING LANTASTIC TO EXISTING OFFICE SYSTEMS TO WORK WITH THE TOUCH MENUS SYSTEM INVOLVES LOADING THE SOFTWARE, ADDING A NET CARD, THEN CONFIGURING THE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE TO WORK PROPERLY.
    INSTALLING THE NET CARD

        Touch Menus software is set up to use IRQ5 on the net card. This will work on most systems. Some bus mice, sound cards and CD ROMS use this interrupt.  If there is a conflict please call, we can generally make it work although sound cards present a challenge.

      1. The Network Adapter has many jumpers on it. Locate the row of jumpers that say IRQ 3, IRQ 4, etc., near to the gold “fingers” on the adapter.  The position labeled IRQ 5 needs to be jumpered.  If there is no jumper on that position check the other IRQ positions for a jumper, usually IRQ 3, and move that jumper to IRQ 5.  Carefully install the adapter in a slot on the motherboard.

    TO LOAD SOFTWARE

        1. Install disk 1 of Lantastic into the A: drive
        2. At the C:> prompt type A:install/dos
        3. For computer name type OFFICE
        4. For directory accept the default of C:
          then next screen  C:LANTASTI
        5. On the next screen select DO NOT share my computers drives and
          printers
        6. Hit enter at next screen (that causes no extra services to be
          added)
        7. Hit enter on next screen to accept parameters
        8. Next screen use down arrow to scroll to bottom of list and select
          wd8003
        9. Select DO NOT set up permanent drive and printer connections
      10. Hit enter at next screen to accept parameters for the install
      11. Hit enter at next screen when asked about autoexec.bat
          modifications
      12. The install will start, insert second disk when requested.
      13. At end of install go to DOS by hitting ENTER then
      14. At next page hit ESC to go to DOS
    CONFIGURING THE SYSTEM

    The software install is complete now the configuration phase begins.
    The following is a description of how to modify the office system’s
    autoexec.bat file.
        1. Make sure you are at your systems root directory. The prompt
          should be C:> , if it is not then type C: (enter)
          then cd (enter).
        2. Type EDIT AUTOEXEC.BAT ,Lantastic will have added a line at the
          bottom “call lantastistartnet.bat”.
        3. Remove that line by using the arrow keys to go to the first
          character of that line then using the delete key to delete all
          the chararcters.
        4. Add the following lines to the end of the autoexec.bat file.

            SUBST Z: D:
          WD8003 IRQ=5
          AILANBIO
          REDIR OFFICE
          NET USE N: \MAINC-DRIVE

        5. Near the top of the file is a line starting with “PATH=”, arrow
          over past the “C:DOS;” and edit in “C:LANTASTI;” into the PATH
          statement, immediately following the semi-colon ([color=black:9kabw1w6];[/color:9kabw1w6]) paying close
          attention to punctuation and placement.

        6. Hit “alt F” then X to exit then Y to save the file.

        7. Type EDIT CONFIG.SYS.

        8. If a line with EMM386.exe exists the the network card address
          needs to be excluded by adding the following switch to the end
          of the EMM386 line,
          X=D000-D1FF.

        9. Append the following lines anywhere after the HIMEM and EMM386
          command:

            DEVICE=C:DOSRAMDRIVE.SYS 300 /E
            LASTDRIVE=Z

      10. Hit “alt F’ then X to exit then Y to save the file.

      11. Once the system is rebooted with these modifications the network
          should be accessible by typing N:
