This document provides a detailed list of the changes in each revision of Win-EZ.  It starts with the pre-release of 6.56.  The first official release was 6.58a.  The current release is 6.59c.

$ Added clockout message in constants. Do to the number of servers who forget their pagers, managers can now remind staff to do whatever.
* Added TraPr demo. Note this is only for front of the house and is a simulation of the TraPr touch flow.

* Added new T/M Config option- Tip TraPr.  Although core logic has been added to tip an open TraPr check, in demo, if turned on the system will write a tip button on the tender page and activate the tip open check feature.
* Multiple Comps can now be stored with a check, when clearing a comp the system now repeats the reason window for each comp to write a reversing entry to the void report

* Quick service now has Combos.  RULES: A combo parent menu item must have COMBO in the alt desc. and combo auto order items must have CMOD in the alt desc. Both are menu items not mods and auto order PLUs must be > 99.
* Added COMBO auto order feature to T/M-Config. A combo can auto order up to 3 items. Mod sequence is suppressed but if a window of choices is required set auto order to 1-99 and the user definable menu group will be pulled on a auto order choice window.
* Quick service cancel item buttons now cancel the entire combo.
* Quick service repeat item buttons now repeat the entire combo.
* Quick service Sub-Item button uses combo logic to pull the correct menu group of combo choices.
$ Upselling in training mode is here.  Row 24 of T/M-Config turns on/off upselling when a user is in training mode.  If on, every time a new menu group is obtained the system pops an upsell message to guide the trainee into thinking “UPSELL”. Constant #30 is a generic header message and that menu group’s autoprompt is the upsell for that menu page.
$ Touch Tab is now user configurable!  To activate go to the manager page and select Touch Tab and configure it to be as simple or in-depth as you want.
    1-SET MINIMUM POINTS REQUIRED TO BE ALLOWED INTO TOUCH TAB
    2-ACTIVATE ITEM:Provides product list, choose one and it’s added to the Touch Tab config. If Touch Tab defaults are all that is required your done.(I:Eval is no longer used)
    3-EDIT ACTIVE ITEM: Allows editing of the Touch Tab CFG
        A-Points earned when purchased.
        B-Points taken away when redeemed on that item-(very cool)
        C-The PLU number of the coupon that will ring when the item is redeemed.
    SAFETY DEFAULTS: If A-C are left blank the system will default to minimum points required, one point earned,
minimum points off and one hard coded PLU number as in original design.
    -Uses Touch Tab cards (track 2).
$ ROI ALERT! When using tax inclusive in the bar and transferring a bar check to a table we now recalculate the tax to be exclusive. (if dining is exclusive)  Estimated ROI:A restaurant that transfers $100.00 a day to the dining room at 7% sales tax increases his gross profit by $2,520.00 per year, times an estimated 5 year life-span equals $12,600.00 to put toward his Win-EZ system. Ya gotta love it:)

* Added this list to the demo window
* Added configurable highlight check window to the margins. Allows the margin highlight to return 1 of 10 preset “fast auto functions”, pull a window of the top 8, or just set the highlight to a new row. Settings can be done by margin i.e. food menu 1, 2, or 3/liquor menu/fast bar/faster bar/drive thru1/drive thru2 or quick serv:)
* Fast bar and Faster bar can now be set to custom or auto PLU in the menu defaults section of Win-EZ config.
    -These use menu groups 39 and 40.
* Food Mods and Bar Mods can now be set to custom or auto PLU in the menu defaults section of Win-EZ config.
    -Custom uses a border of quick mods.
* Changed how Win-EZ reads liquor popups in department config-B. You now can elect to use the mod sequence or over ride the mod sequence with 1 touch, many touches or no popups. This is useful for cocktail servers to have a 1 touch drink type while dining servers get a done button and bartenders get no popups–all can use the same menu item and mod sequence:)
* Added new wild card button on the 4 fine dining margins. Allows user to paint the button in menu pages and select a wild card function on row 32 of Win-EZ global config. Choose from SUB-ITEM/ SETTLE/ PRINT/ SEND&NEW/ SEND&RECALL/ SEND&EXIT/ QTY/ HOLD&FIRE/ SEAT#/ COURSE-LINE/ ADJUST/ MESSAGE-ITEM:)
* Added support for branch only to autozones so Touch Menus dealers can set up their own flexible bar and modifier screens. Select branch only in the menu item data base and place that PLU on the desired menu group. Make a mod group and mod sequence to pop.  Place the mod sequence on the branch only menu item and a window will pop with all the menu items that have that mod group on them.
! Branch only support opened up a world of challenges which are fixed–thanks to Darrin.
    -Branch only PLUs are now omitted from the choice window when subbing items.
$ MORE ROI! Added support for SMARTr Tax. With SMARTr Tax on bar items turned on in Job Department Confg-B.  The check will be inclusive until a food item (PLU Dep 1) is entered. The entire check will be converted to tax exclusive. Note: Cancel or void the last food item off and the check converts back. MHH:)
! Changed clockin/out email window to delay 20 seconds (you can still touch out) It was reported that on clockout servers would forget to touch the email window and stay clocked in-oops.

! Fixed closing of pop-up choice window.
* Added shortcut to Win-EZ config and return to Ezmenu on the demo window.  This should speed up config when Cindy is setting up a slow demo unit.
* Added custom manager discounts. They work just like coupons but are only available to managers. Customers still seem to want to touch employee meal and ring a negative PLU instead of doing a COMP (???) now they can set up manager discounts just like coupons.
    -Coupon and MGR discount examples are located in the PLU database.
* Moved Table Config to manager’s page.
    – Note: The modgrp_x chain is not compiled into chains.dat this is a very important and complicated chain if you attempt to edit it the system will not run. Please take warning.

* Designated line# 33-50 as for future use in Touch Menus Config. This will allow for features to be added for the Touch Menus dealers.
* Added line# 51-65 in Touch Menus cfg for terminal hardware config by node.  This will allow T/M dealers to mix and match terminal types and printer types. (Being located on the last 15 lines a T/M dealer can still set up terminal config even if slowscroll is not set)
* Added support for the Star sp200 & 300
* Changed all local print templates to respect the SP220/SP300/TM88II print codes or default to normal/black of the last known good print code if for reporting.
* Changed all points of card swipe entry to respect terminal type by node
* Changed how Win-EZ calculates the amount of non-cash media has been collected on a check to keep servers from putting on enough non-cash media to make the cash entry an negative number. (Now the calculation is now done on the fly to allow TraPr to collect multiple cards on a check)
* Added new bounce screen saver to timeout1.shl requires ver > 6!58
* Added showing tip as correct if T:Result=9 (Just in case)
* Added ability to turn off the charge tip window in W-Ez Global. (When using TraPr you don’t declare charge batch tips as you would if not using TraPr)
* Changed the calibrate batch file to RCCAL.BAT in the working directory. If the C drive exists it will call calibrate from c:touch if not it will call it from a:touch. (This feature will enable the use of the IMMAGE2 ROM drive)
* Added caller id support for Touch Menus Pizza clients. The number of incoming phone lines is set up in T/M config on line #34. This setting will place line-1 thru line-4 buttons on the caller-id delivery page on the fly and activate the interface. Caller ID is configurable by node in T/M config for flexible setup of delivery

* Added mid-range slowscroll and bounceslow values to the variable.bat master terminal disk maker. Note: The flash ROM master is awaiting release
* Added a support for the Seiko thermal printer for older Touch Menus clients.  This feature is configurable by node within T/M config.
* Added support for local printing on com1 – com4 within Editlite.
* Added support for downloading logos to the Epson Tm88II on com1-com4 with a configurable download logo port within T/M config. This should put to rest any backward compatibility issues regarding Win-EZ
! Fixed large print with seat# oops
* Added modgroup #38 DOLLAR KEYPAD. If placed on a modsequence which is on a menu item, the item will pop a keypad for the user to enter the dollar amount.
* Added 14 page “more” menu to the food and liquor margin’s wild card button.  It is defined in global config.
* Added the ability to auto-paint the 14 “more” menu buttons within Win-EZ config’s menu pages section.
* Added Insert modifier feature that will insert a Mod below the highlight item.
* Added insert mod to the wild card and margin highlight choices.
* Added sales groups 54-57 as extra food modifier breakouts for the main food mods window note:still defaults to 50
* Added ability to print to RT1-RT11 if server is running on a local terminal’s hard drive.
* Added support for Star remote printers.  Define in print jobs (Each print job can defined differently).
* Added barcode scan ordering to 1MNU, 2MNU, 3MNU and quick service pages. Make the PLU’s PIN # the upc #.
* Added “go on break” and “return from break” functions to the server function page. Any employees you wish to have access to breaks need to be assigned to job code 49 for a penny.
* Greatly increased the functionality of the transfer server function. It is know configurable on line 34 of global config and is located on the server adjust and quick service adjust control pages as well as the manager junctions page. Includes the ability to select the following:
    1-Who can do a transfer–MGR or ALL
    2-Does the transfer use SMARTr tax?
    3-When selecting the server who gets the check do you want to select by using the LOGIN screen, a passcode window or a server swipe window.  (Server swipe window respects the terminal type I.E. IMMAGE2)
    NOTE:The server transfer on the manager function page only respects the SMARTr tax on/off setting
! The dealer stamp was not auto writing to the caller-ID delivery page-fixed
* Added several TM_ chains that will send orders to vpens and Baktalk on the fly, message baktalk on sending the order, allow vpens to be stamped as PAID and allow FasTouch to send and order thru the same chain as terminals to vpens for configuration ease. Note: Requires Editnet.
* Splitting up bar and cashier ended up to be a real good idea. Added cashier page and margin with togo and pickup buttons.
* Added the ability to have a covers window pop on here and togo from the delivery and cashier page. It is controlled from #35 on global config (#35 shared by cashier and delivery)
* Updated demo employees with Break job code with a pay rate of .01 per hour.
* Added transfer all checks feature to the transfer check button on the serv adjust control page. This will work with transfer check config on line 34 of global config and is used by Denny’s.
! Fixed coupons and MGR Discounts, they were killing the order item and mod sequence instructions–Added global
safety net in the master start chain.
* Added ability to turn off local printers by terminal in touch menus config.
* Added the TraPr off label to transfer server from all points
* Added the storing of covers so that when splitting a check if a suggested gratuity is required it will be triggered on each of the split checks. This is a feature match.
* Restricted the splitting of checks if any media exists. (For TraPr)
* Added a choice window to the check adjust shortcut key. It will allow the recalling of a check for manager adjustments or the opening of a new check for banquet and gift cert. functions.–Non managers are only allowed to recall and perform server adjustments I.E. No choice window.
* Removed remote buzzer support (This feature was obsoleted by local/remotes.
* Added ability to reroute printers to the “local” remote printers RT1-RT11 with a warning not to mess with it if you are not running server on the terminal or don’t know what your doing.
* Added AutoClose as a manager function to be performed on demand after 3:00pm the configurable AutoClose is now a safety net usually set to 6:00pm to insure that AutoClose is run by the time set in T/M config.
* Added a “cutter” chain to all of the non-guest check local print jobs.
* Added a new feature to the beverage required window. It scans for a I:Evaluator that is ticked for beverage.  If the beverage count is less than the guest count a warning window pops.
! Fixed a loop that occurred when non login employee tried to access checks for the second time.
* Added Cancel all feature that checks to see if there are any sent items on the check-if so, a warning window prevents the user from going on, Then warns the user that he is going to cancel all items and void the check.
! Fixed cancel combo that prevented a combo from being cancelled on the first touch if it was the first item 6!58a
* Added ability to mirror mod sequence with PIN number when inserting a modifier. (If this feature is used it will not use sales group 50 for the generic modifiers on the mod window for the inserting).
* Greatly expanded settle checks options in global config. You may now apply a charge tip when you apply the media or at the end of the shift with the declare tips function. If you are doing it when the check is closed you skip the declare tips procedure and a declare CASH TIPS window will pop with the final cashout chain.  We now recalculate the cash and tip available on a check (Change Due) on the fly to prevent ringing more non-cash media than you have cash and tip to give back. The Tip amount is then deducted from the cash due the “House” when a server report is generated:)
* Changed the charge tip setting in global config to allow the above to be user definable. Set to: 1 of 3 preset media #s for the tip window to pop on that media, set to declare tips at end of shift or set to not have charge tips run through the system.
* Changed edit closed checks to respect the server ID as well as cashier ID so that the gratuity and sales info closed on the check will over-ring the server ID’s CSI report and the media will over-ring the cashier ID’s CSI and CSH report.
* Changed how Win-EZ determines whether a order needs to go to the fire order chain from the orderitm chain to an on the fly scan to see if items have been printed (respects hold&fire).
* Added a over due check alert to global config. (Denny’s) Enter the number of minutes you consider overdue for closing and upon entering Quickreports any check in the system older than your preset will print out and cut.
! Void item now respects Hold&Fire.
* Added a decompiled chain called tm_pin.  This will reset the modifiers by pin number listed above to the correct mod.
* Added the ability to edit non TraPr checks even when TraPr auth is turned on within tm-config. It flags the checks with the word TraPr in the check amount field. If the check is flagged as a TraPr check it will pop a warning window that says you must edit TraPr media with TraPr:)
* Added TM config #35 COUPON MGR.  This allows only managers and cashiers to access coupons.
! Fixed happy hour 3 and 4.
! Cus display now works better in 6.58.
! Fixed the cancel button for coupons.
* Changed the declare cash tips function to write to the media tip for cash.  This will all users to have a total for tips on checks (Charge) and tips on for cash media in the tip report.
* The long cashier report on the server report button is now able to be turned off within TM-Config.

Ver 6.58b 3/27/00

* Added Tip Fee Global Option 37 for non TraPr users. Allows a tip fee amount to be set. This fee shows on the Server Report, and on Final Cashout it reduces the server’s tip amount and adds it back into the cash due the house:)
* Faster Bar now supports the Auto Receipt on Exit feature located in Department Config B. If turned on, Win-EZ will print a receipt to place on the bar top when the bartender stores a check.
* The MGR Stats button has been changed to pop open a window giving the manager a choice of running the MGR Stats or printing a Walkout report.  This report lists all checks that have been open longer than the number of minutes defined in Overdue Checks Global Option 36.
* The cut code for local printing was for an Epson TM88II. It has been changed to the cut code for an Epson TM200 which works for both the TM88II and the TM200.
* Changed the timeout on T1-T10 to 10min and the demo terminal to 15 minutes.
* Changed remote templates to reset to black to accomodate Trpr.
* Created new upgrade node that when launched will add all new cofiguration options for that version and set the
options default to off or safe setting. NOTE: Upgrades must be done from the previous version number and only to a standard Win-EZ application.
    Upgrade instructions:
        1)Copy the VX.XXx-U.zip to working dir.
        2)Unzip file and del *.zip.
        3)Type “touchnet upgrade”.  (Features.txt will be copied to data).
* Loading logos to serial printers now sets the mode command to the correct com port if lpt1 in not selected. This does not require batch file editing:)
* Added ability to overtender medias on line 38 of TM config. This will allow overtendering of all medias except media #4, which is preset to charge card.
* Added ability to turn off gift cert. adjust on line 39 of TM config. This causes gift certificates to be treated like a regular media and is useful when using Cash Management.
Ver 6.59c  1/16/01

* Changed edit closed checks to allow the over-ring of a TraPr check. The client must be advised that he/she is responsible for editing the TraPr media from within Trapr. This is as a result of client request and was not ever planned as a Win-EZ feature.
* Added the ability to handle electronic gift certificates both in tendering and manager payments. This feature adds a third option to gift adjust on line #39 on tm config which is G-CARD. When this is selected the gift certificate media #2 is activated as electronic. Note: The GC chains are decompiled and maintainable by Touch Menus.
! All shells now swap out of base memory, eliminating intermittent shell errors with some functions.
! The window informing the user that AutoClose could not be run until after 3PM has been revised to eliminate the reference to a specific time.
