SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Cannot Add Printers and printers disappear or do not show up after installing any windows updates to an existing LANtastic 8.01 Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine. Memory errors occur when trying to print from some software.

SOLUTION:
Work Around:
1. Rename c:winntsystem32printui.dll. (This is an Artisoft file)
2. Rename c:winntsystem32Mprintui.dll to printui.dll (mprintui.dll is the Microsoft version which LANtastic renames upon install)
3. Copy the newly renamed Microsoft c:winntsystem32printui.dll to into the Lantastiwinntinstallservicesserver directory
NOTE:
In most cases Windows 2000 will replace the missing printui.dll with it’s own version.
If Windows 2000 does not replace the file then rename Microsoft’s file back to it’s correct name)
Also, without the printui.dll supplied by the Lantastic 8.0 install, Windows 2000 printers will be able to be redirected to local Lantastic ports (ports on the same computer). However, this is NOT supported, and attempting to print to a port redirected in this way will generate an error and will NOT print.
