This document contains information pertaining to the necessary styling and the report module called TACOMGR. TACOMGR is a custom report module written to the specifications of Tab Harris at Taco Bell. This module is not sold by Touch Menus to other Taco Bells and is intended for use by Tab Harris only. The report module consists of two reports
1. Sales Summary
2. Real Time Labor.The Sales Summary report is dependent on specific styling to produce the specified information.
The Sales Summary reports on Sales info, Labor info and Inventory info. A section of the report is a reconciliation for each employee that looks like this:
Sales 0.00
Cash In Till 0.00
Cash Drops (+) 0.00
Register Fund (-) 0.00
Cash Collected (0.00
Over/Short (0.00 (Difference between Sales and Cash
collected)This section is dependent on the styling for the information. Touchnet is styled to print information to a file, which TACOMGR picks up and posts to the appropriate journal file.
The File is called CASH.PRN and it is located in the DATA directory. It is created by defining a printer within TOUCHNET which is a file and attached to node MAIN. The file contains the following information:
Text Variable
NOTE: Kind = Branch
Where Branch is set Date = Decimal Date (6 digit numeric)
to determine the type Employee = Employee Number (4 digit numeric)
of transaction. Kind = Branch (2 digit numeric)
1-Cash In Till Amount = Amount (6 digit numeric
2-Register Fund decimal)
3-Deposit
4-DropAlong with the Printer File created this information is stored in a bucket for producing custom 40 column Cashier Reports. The format for the bucket is as follows:
Bucket Name = Employee ID
Column
1
Row 1 Sales
2 Reserved
3 Reserved
4 Reserved
5 Reserved
6 Reserved
7 Reserved
8 Cash In Till
9 Cash Drop Total
10 Register FundAnother section of the Sales Summary report that is dependent on styling is the Inventory Section. The Inventory section has a reconciliation for each inventory item which looks like this:
Item: Burgers
A.M. Inventory: 10
(+) Purchases: 5
Total On Hand: 15
(-) Total Unused: 14
(Total Used: 1
Cost/Lb: 2.50
Cost of Used: 2.50
Cost of Sales: 4.2%This information is collected by TACOMGR in the same manner as the Cash information. Touchnet creates a file called INV.PRN in the DATA directory. TACOMGR reads the file and posts the findings in
the appropriate journal file. The file contains the following information:Text Variable
Date = Decimal Date (6 digit numeric)
Number = Number 1 (5 digit numeric)
Description = CUS:City (12 digit alpha)
Begin Inventory = Number 3 (5 digit numeric)
Purchases = Number 2 (5 digit numeric)
End Inventory = Number 1 (5 digit numeric)
Cost = Dollar 3 (6 digit numeric decimal)Along with the Printer File created this information is stored in a bucket. The bucket format is as follows:
Bucket Name = INV
Bucket Row = Item Number (up to 250)Field Column
Number (5) 1
Description (12) 10
Cost (5) 22
Purchases (5) 30-100
Begin Count (5) 105
End Count (5) 110

Revisions8/14/95 Version 1.02
1. Addressed error 7 received when reading the journal files. Changed the way the journal file was read.
2. Addressed error 11 received when running Real Time Labor for a day where no sales were posted.
3. Hard coded the Real Time Labor report to only compute sales on the most recent journal file rather than a selected date.8/16/95 Version 1.03
1. Added ability to read some report options defined in MANAGER. Specifically the report header text and Eject Page option.
2. Also added the total pay figure back into Sales Summary and Real Time reports at request of Tab.8/22/95 Version 1.04
1. Fixed bug relating to individual employee tax totals in Sales Summary Report. The totals were not showing.
8/31/95 Version 1.10
1. Addressed issue of doing multiple inventory counts throughout the day. Changed the way the inventory will be posted. In TOUCHNET the user will enter the beginning inventory, up to 14 purchase entries for each inventory item and the ending inventory (as many times as is necessary) each day. The user will only post inventory once at the end of the day. To get the real time labor information the user will only have to run Real Time Inventory in TACOMGR. This issue necessitated several styling changes as well as changes at the source code level for TACOMGR. The Inventory bucket was restructured, see above for exact information.
2. Addressed issue of posting cash and inventory information to the correct journal file, respecting the New Day Hour Option as defined in EDITNET. (Global.DAT)
3. Fixed bug relating to the numbering of Deposits. The deposits would start out at 0 rather than 1.9/05/96 Version 1.11
1. Fixed bug in Real Time Inventory report. The item cost was only picking up the first digit of the cost value in the INV.BUK.
2. Tab also reported that the module was not respecting the NewDayHour as defined in the GLOBAL.DAT file. I tested with the following data:NewDayHour=4:00
System Time=3:00
System Date=09/06/95I then proceeded to do some inventory,cash drops,register fund,cash in till, and deposits. All the preceeding information posted to the 09-05-1995 journal. Could not find the “bug” Tab reported.
9/06/95 Version 1.12
1. All Error 11’s will be RESUMED on.
2. Did some work on report asthetics.
3. Fixed bug relating to posting inventory and cash information on the correct date. All of these type of transactions when taking place between 12:00am and 1:00am are being treated as 12:..pm, thereby not respecting the New Day Hour.9/15/95 Version 1.13a
1. Squashed bug relating to posting procedure. Have switched to using military time in the styling used to create the CASH.PRN file used by TACOMGR for deposits and the INV.PRN file used for inventory information.
2. Added debugging files for Cash and Inventory information. When TacoMGR reads the PRN files it will append the contained information to a like named BAK file. Tab reports that sometimes the information that has been input at the POS is not getting posted to the journal files.9/22/95 Version 1.14a
1. Now I really killed the bug relating to the posting procedure. Still am creating debugging files though, just in case. Problem was that the transaction date was going through a modification process that would change the transaction date to the current date if the transaction time was less than NewDayHour. While this logic is proper for a real time operation it does not work here because Tacomgr can be run weeks later than the transaction.
9/25/95 Version 1.20
1. For some reason I did not save the changes to the source code when I compiled version 1.14, this version replaces version 1.14.
12/11/95 Version 1.30
1. Added HASP copy protection.
2. Added checking for Propper paths (CHECKS,DATA,REPORTS)
3. Added suppport for New RP Libs.
4. Added version checking (Only compatible with version 4.xx Touchnet)12/21/95 Version 1.31
1. Fixed a bug relating to HASP error messages. The message would not fit in the window supplied.
11/13/96 Version 2.00
1. Version 5.xx compatible:
2. Changed the way it loads these files:
* Groups.DAT
* Employee.DAT
* JobCode.DAT (used to be Depts.DAT)
3. Incorporated the new 2000 plu limit.
4. Incorporated overring handling.01/15/97 Version 5.01
1. Changed time stamp so that hour matches current version of TouchPRO related files.
2. Fixed bug related to hourly sales section. Was showing net sales for the hours, but gross sales for the total. Obviously the individual hour totals did not add up to the total shown.03/10/97 Version 6.00
1. Changed loading Employee.DAT and JobCode.DAT
07/29/98 Versinon 6.01
1. Added support for virtual HASP (standalone)
