TMCalib is a utility written by Touch Menus for Interaction Compatable Touch Screens. It’s only purpose is to Check and Set the Calibration on a Touch Screen connected to COM1: or COM2:.
When TMCalib is first run, a blinking pointer will show you where it perceives you are currently touching. If you are actually touching another area, the screen is not propperly calibrated.
To be in calibration, the hardware needs to know where the visual borders of the screen actually are. To teach it this, you have two options.
If the screen is only slightly out of calibration, you can move the pointer into the ‘TM’ Box, and release your touch. This will enter calibration mode.
If the screen is to far out of calibration, the above will be impossible. In that case you would need to press ‘ENTER’ on your keyboard. This will also enter calibration mode.
Once in calibration mode, you will be prompted to touch each visual border in sequence. Touch the Red border, and hold for approximatly 1 second, then release. Do this until all 4 borders have been touched, and then check your calibration and repeat if neccesary.
The first time TMCalib is run, it will default to Com1. If the touch screen is really plugged into Com2, you must change the setting by pressing the Space Bar. In the upper right hand corner, will be displayed the current COM port setting. Each time you press the Space Bar, this will toggle. When you Exit from TMCalib, the setting will be stored in a file
called TMCalib.CFG.If you specify a number 1 or 2 on the command line (IE: ‘TMCalib 1’), this will tell the program the actual Com-Port to use. This setting will override any settings stored in the TMCalib.CFG file. If you exit, it will also store that setting in TMCalib.CFG
If on the command-line you use ‘/AUTO’ when the program begins it will start right into the calibration mode. This is useful for auto-boot disks, for occasions where a screen is too far out of calibration.
