MemberStarting with 2.27 Win-EZ Server has now been split into several services, the following outlines each component, and the basic functions that it provides.
Win-EZ Server: Provides a user interface and status center, as well as timed events that require the authority of a logged in user in Windows.
Win-EZ Payment Server: Provides Credit, Gift, and Property Management transactions (Beta 2.27, will not conflict with Win-EZ Credit Card)
Win-EZ DServ: Provides Database services
Win-EZ TServ: Provides global trace, error, event, warning, and status logging for all applications.
Win-EZ Detail Writer: Provides a service to digest detail events from POS and convert those events into reporting files (*.dtl), and handles interface to Remote Eyes DVR
Win-EZ Print Server: Service version of Win-EZ Printing (In development as of 2.27)
Win-EZ MServ: Provides mechanisms to use the Win-EZ Enterprise messaging server.
Win-EZ CServ: Provides file compression, encryption, and zip capability, as well as providing for timed backups.
Win-EZ SServ: Provides timed events and core services.
Win-EZ CIDServ: Provides Caller ID interface to Whozz Calling. (Dormant if not licensed)
Win-EZ Live Mirror: Provides services to mirror the working folder structure to a backup server in real time. (Beta 2.27)
These services, along with Win-EZ Manager, use a number of IP Ports in order to communicate with each other. While the Win-EZ Manager installer will set Windows Firewall Exceptions for these services and the ports they need, other firewalls may need to be configured in order to allow the connections.
Below is a list of Ports, and their usage in Win-PZ P.O.S.
(All ports are TCP)64099: Alternate SMTP Server for Win-EZ Enterprise Messaging.
64100: Trace / Status port for Win-EZ TServ.
64101: Win-EZ Server Status port.
64102, 64103: Win-EZ DServ Database port.
64104: Win-EZ Payment Server Remote Transaction.
64105 – 64120: Reserved for future use.We recommend allowing ports 64099 – 64120 through the firewall so that future usage does not conflict.
