The following outlines the folder structure used by Win-EZ P.O.S. starting with version 2.27.

If the configuration is created by Win-EZ Manager 2.27 during the “First Run” routines, then the structure uses a recursive Win-EZ folder, older versions use a single Win-EZ folder. The double folder setup is in preparation for using Vista as the File Server OS.

    “C:Win-EZ” or ”C:Win-EZWin-EZ”, and “Win-EZPlugins”:
The “Win-EZ”, and “Plugins” folders store all of the executables and support files used by Win-EZ P.O.S. on the touch screen terminals. “Win-EZ” is shared as “Win-EZ” for the terminals to use.

    “Win-EZClient”:
The “Client” folder and all of its sub folders contain the data and configuration files for the client. This folder is shared as “client” for the terminals to use. In a corporate, or dealer environment, there can be multiple “client” folders each one with an appropriate name, and shared as such. (See appropriate set up documentation)

    “WorkingSettings”:
The “WorkinsSettings” folder is used by all Windows applications and services. This folder structure contains settings, cache, log, and backup files.

Prior to 2.27 these items were stored in the “Program FilesWin-EZ Manager” folder

The “Backup” folder contains 30 days of “Client” folder backups as well as a “Reports” folder containing each day of reports as a permanent archive.

The “DataBackUp” folder contains a backup (by profile) of the data files from the first time that Win-EZ Manager loaded that day.

All other folders are used by applications as they run.
